Elizabeth McGehee, PT, DPT, OCS, has joined the Rehabilitation Staff at Saint John Hospital. She has specialized training in helping women with pelvic health and pelvic floor dysfunction.

Elizabeth graduated from Duke University School of Medicine in 2015 with a Doctor of Physical Therapy. As an avid runner, she took an interest in the world of orthopedics, endurance athletes, and getting patients back to doing what they love.

She received her Bachelor of Science in Education, Communications Science and Disorders from The University of Georgia. She is a clinical instructor credentialed by the American Physical Therapy Association and in 2018 became a Board-Certified Orthopaedic Clinical Specialist. She has completed extensive pelvic floor coursework (more than 60 hours) through Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute.

“Through several military moves with my husband, I was reminded of lack of access to specialty rehabilitative care as well as postpartum care from which many women benefit,” Elizabeth said. “This visible need led me to seek additional specialization in pelvic health and pelvic floor dysfunction.

She added, “Over the past eight years I have become a passionate advocate for access to quality care for our military spouses, active-duty service members, and retirees that serve our communities.”
