Cardiac Catheterization Laboratories Help Heal Broken Hearts
By utilizing technologically advanced equipment, our medical team can accurately pinpoint a patient’s heart problem and deliver effective treatment to patients with heart problems. A long-time regional leader in cardiac care, Providence Medical Center was the first hospital in the Midwest to acquire an advanced cardiac catheterization laboratory. The demand for our services has been so great, that we’ve added a second laboratory at the Cardiac Care Center.
Our two full-service laboratories feature the Advantx LC and Cardiac Cath System, which provide state-of-the-art medical imaging for diagnostic and interventional procedures.
The catheterization laboratory gives our physicians breakthrough capabilities like:
- Flexibility with positioning patients for procedures, which makes it easy to obtain distortion-free images of the area of interest. That means shorter exams for patients and more accurate test results.
- An operating room viewer station that allows surgeons to see test results before and during heart surgery.
- Filmless archiving that enables indefinite storage of patient records via CD ROM.
- A remote viewer station, located in the nearby doctors’ dictation area, where physicians can recall a patient’s exam by computer.
The outstanding capabilities of our Catheterization Laboratories have helped establish Providence as a leading regional referral center for all cardiac services.
