Medical-Surgical Unit

The Medical-Surgical Unit is a 16 bed patient unit that cares for medical, surgical, cardiac and pediatric patients. All patient rooms are private.

Nurses, nursing assistants, doctors and ancillary staff work as a team to diagnose and treat many types of illness, and a variety of medical and surgical conditions.

They strive to educate patients and their families, during the hospital stay as well as upon discharge, on all new medications, signs & symptoms to look for at home and follow-up information. This initiative can help greatly in the prevention of illness.

Nurses carry pagers linked to patient cardiac monitors that allow nursing staff to check patients’ cardiac rhythms even if they are away from the nursing station.
