Admission Criteria
Admission to Senior Behavioral Health Unit is indicated for patients ages 55 and older who have a psychiatric diagnosis or symptoms and meet the severity of illness of at least two criteria below:
- Suicide attempts/ ideation
- Self-destructive behavior
- Homicidal ideation
- Assaultive behavior
- Destructive to property
- Medication noncompliance
- Disorientation or memory impairment causing change in daily living activities
- Psychiatric symptoms such as: hallucinations, delusions, panic reaction, anxiety, agitation, depression
- Sleep disturbance
- Oxygen up to 21, per NC, eligible
Special Note: We accept patients needing wound care and those who have catheters.
Documents Needed for the Intake Process
- Demographic information– Face sheet
- Copy of DPOA/ Guardianship
- Physician Order for admission
- Progress notes containing information on referral need
- Medication list
- Insurance cards
- Recent UA/LABs if available
Exclusion Criteria

Patients with C-diff, MRSA, VRE, and other communicable diseases will be assessed on an individual basis

Patients with primary substance use disorder

Patients requiring dialysis
